Merry Christmas

We had a great Christmas holiday weekend.  It is so nice when you can relax and enjoy the days.  Our big family party is Christmas Eve and GrandDad served up the now traditional and especially yummy cioppino.  The kids were excited for opening presents of course, but managed to eat a bit.

Christmas morning was not unusually early, thank goodness.  I was tired.  The kids enjoyed their presents and we just played and napped and played in our pajamas until almost dinner time.  Typically we head over the hill for Christmas dinner, but our cousins were out of town so we were on our own for Christmas dinner this year.  We took the easy way out and shared Chinese take out with Grammie and GrandDad.  No stress.  I think this could become our back-up tradition when the duck-duck-goose dinner doesn't happen.

We celebrated boxing day on the beach thanks to the generosity of family friends.  It was a different sort of white Christmas with sand and shells on the beach.  It was a beautiful sunny day after weeks of dreary weather.
